This island was a little sleepier when A.B. Cooper built Oceanana as a family motel playground on eight oceanfront acres in 1959. Craft beer and wine shops, tasty restaurants and indie boutiques are now all part Atlantic Beach.

Shops are just a few minutes by golf cart or a leisurely walk along the beach. Fort Macon State Park and Bogue Sound are close-by for outdoor adventures. Including two marinas, just steps from the property, leading to excellent boating and fishing. Even closer is Amos Mosquito’s Restaurant, a Crystal Coast favorite recently featured on the Food Network.
Other highlights of the Crystal Coast—Historic Beaufort and Downtown Morehead City—are just minutes away. But there’s no need to cross any bridges when everything you need can be found in Atlantic Beach.
